Another chapter closes. It finally hit me tonight - I no longer live in Bristol.
I didn’t feel this way when I moved out of the last apartment. I think that’s because the first apartment was just a place to live. This one was something else.
It was home.

First meal cooked on fancy new stove: Macaroni and Cheese. In a wok.
Because you want to use your finest Chinese cookware on a gourmet meal that complex.
The place is nowhere near done, but with the next two weekends being holidays, I’m not likely to get moved then - so it was now or next year.
Crimson hates it. She won’t leave the living room.
There is not enough time in the world.
Bedroom painted, wall plates picked out (to cover up my hideous job of wielding a Roto-Zip). We’ll do the wall and ceiling touchup and re-cut the ceiling/wall joint tomorrow. Then all that’s left is molding, which will be done after the floor is refinished.
And at last I can finally call one room DONE!
There haven’t been many updates because I’m too beat to do them.
I’ll have pictures when the whole project’s done. It’s gonna be a while yet. I’ve got before, during, and after shots. It doesn’t look like the same place it did 60 days ago. Hell, it doesn’t look like the same place it did 10 days ago.
I will say this - I feel significantly better about things now that walls are starting to get primed. My father was right. He usually is.
By Sunday, we should have two rooms painted and ready for finish molding. Maybe three. The floors in the kitchen and dining room start going in on Sunday.
Then I can start moving stuff in.
Only 4 weeks behind schedule.
It’s midnight on December 1st. It’s 60 degess out.
Last week there was frost on my windshield. Now, I could be out riding my motorcycle.
I’m ready for the cold. When’s Algore scheduled to speak up here about global warming?
