Someone better get Ariel Sharon on the phone…

Riddle me this:

If the United States went to war in Iraq to benefit Israel (of course, this is the legendary agenda of PNAC (Project for a New American Century) if you believe the anti-Zionist moonbats);

IF the United States went to war in Iraq to benefit Israel, then why is Ariel Sharon so hip to forcibly remove all Jewish settlers from Gaza and hand it over to Hamas?

Is he suicidal, or are the moonbats just full of shit?

You don’t need to answer. I already know the answer is “Yes. Both.”

Perhaps a more glib answer would be “Ariel Sharon, in the Knesset, with a gavel.”

God damn, I hate commercials…

TV is on in the other room. I get to hear a woman announce “I have genital herpes.”

Where’s the remote…

She follows this revelation with: “I though I was being careful.”

Uhm.. if you’ve got herpes, then you were ipso facto NOT careful.

A more realistic ad would go something like this:

“I’m a filthy slut and I got herpes from some guy I met at a bar one night.”
“I’ll screw pretty much anything when I’m drunk, and I woke up and had this sore on my dick.”

“But now I take this pill, and nobody even notices that I’m carrying an incurable sexual disease!”

Why Bin Laden doesn’t matter

Just thought of this. Finally, an analogy that works.

A lot of the anti-war, anti-Bush lefties have been screaming that Iraq is an “unjust” or “illegal” or even “unnecessary” war, and that it is diverting our resources from capturing Bin Laden.

Do they honestly believe that with the capture or death of Bin Laden that anti-US terrorism will stop?

The analogy I promised you: When you get an infection, is it important to find the bacterium that started it? No, because while you are expending all of your energy and resources looking for that one bacterium, the infection will kill you.

Islam, if it was ever healthy, is infected. We’re penicilin. Iraq is where we are working now.

Sometimes the MSM works

Dateline NBC (of exploding Chevy fame) may just have redeemed themselves. They decided to put their considerable resources to the task of finding a spammer

And they found him! I won’t spoil the ending. Read the whole thing.

This is the kind of old-fashioned investigative journalism that the MSM was famous for. It’s nice to see investigative reporting without an agenda, or a desired result determined in advance.

So this is it then, we’re going to die

Someone needs to explain this to me. Either WaPo found the only defeated soldier in the United States Army, or we, as a nation, a people, and a way of life, are all going to die at the hands of the Islamists.

How bad does it have to be for our soldiers to conclude that we cannot defeat the Islamists? Is the problem there, or here? What can we do to solve it, before it’s too late?

Well, Tom Hayden wanted his Viet Nam. He got it.

This title intentionally left blank

I don’t know how to classify this, or title it, so I punted.

I’ve been reading the “A mind is a difficult thing to change” series at Neo-neocon, and my mind has started assembling chunks of things that have floated through it in the recent past.

A commenter somewhere, Vox Populi I think, had mentioned that the United States has historically been isolationist, only lashing out when attacked, and returning to the posture of indifferent isolation afterward. His statement was something along the lines of “we don’t stay anywhere, we just go out and make it so that we can be left alone again.”

I had also heard someone mention the number of people that died in Viet Nam, Cambodia, and the rest of South-east Asia and how it related to our abandonment of the South Vietnamese.

I remember President Bush making a speech on the 60th anniversary of V-E day about how the Yalta conference had condemned Eastern Europe to suffer the tender mercies of Stalin’s USSR.

After reading neo’s journey (as much as has been written thus far), I think i realized something about WWII that was sorely lacking in Korea, Viet Nam, and now Iraq.

The deep personal sense that we are in mortal danger in the US, and the need - as in World War II, to “make the world safe for us to ignore again.” The fall of the Reichstag was the period on the statement “Leave me alone.” in Europe. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the exclamation point for Japan (who had actually invaded us).

But Korea and Viet Nam were different. The threat from the USSR was too abstract. Nobody here could conceptualize a nuclear attack on New York, for instance. So why fight the Soviets in Korea? Why fight them in Viet Nam? At that point in history, there was no reason to believe in dominoes. But after we left Viet Nam, they all fell.

And then in 1989, with no warning, The Wall fell down.

What all this means I cannot say. But if there is a lesson to be learned from Viet Nam, it is this: when confronted with a regime that has told you explicitly “we will bury you”, you cannot abandon the fight and leave countries that are in the middle of the battlefield to the tender mercies of the enemy.

People got no fucking class

Or was that glass?

I take my dog for walks around the neighborhood semi-regularly. I have noticed on several occasions broken glass on the sidewalk in front of one or more houses. typically a beer bottle, but sometimes a bottle from some other beverage.

This pisses me off, because I have to watch the ground for traces of glass, and cross the street or walk in the street to get around the glass. I certainly don’t want to walk a barefoot dog through the glass.

Is it too much to ask for people not to break bottles on the public sidewalk? And if you see a broken bottle on the ground in front of your house, could you please make an effort to clean it up?

My dog thanks you.

“perfect white babies”

OK - tell me how the left isn’t racist now?

Just heard a caller on Limbaugh parroting the DU/DailyKos line about how Roberts has “perfect white babies” from Central America, where all the babies are brown (and presumably, in the eyes of the moonbats, flawed), and how the records of the adoption are sealed so that nobody will ever know that he did something untoward in the adoption of these babies.

To the best of my knowledge, all adoption records are sealed as a matter of course to protect the privacy of the children and the biological parents.

Also to the best of my knowledge, a very large quantity of persons from Central and South America are not brown. The local indians were light brown, and the meztizos, being of mixed parentage, are lighter still. There are also descendants of Spanish persons living in these countries, who would be quite white. Therefore, the possibility of white babies (even of mixed race) from Central America is quite high.

The inherent racsim of the left is on display for all to see today.

What is the cost of time?

The idiots in DC have decided that extending daylight savings time will save energy. These people are fools.

The very first question I asked when this was proposed was “how many people work in offices where they turn off the lights during the day?” I don’t know of any. And I know a lot of people.

The second question I asked was “do these assholes realize how much it is going to cost to change every zarking computer that automatically does the DST changeover?”

I strongly suspect that any energy savings to be had (which will be minimal, at best) will be offset by the cost of modifying everything on Earth to bow to the superiority of the minds in DC.

And something I just thought of - the sun will be lower in the sky at both ends of the day as a result of this - will it cause an increase in car accidents due to sun in the eyes? If so, did these brainless prats include that in their calculus?

I doubt it. These are sound-bite idiots that actually believe that because Congress dictates it, it will be so.

This stupidity is not supposed to take effect until 2007. There is still time to prevent any major wastage of money by repealing it NOW. Mr. President, I demand that you call the Congress back from recess to convene a special session to repeal this idiotic piece of legislation.

Cats living with dogs…

I never thought I would see the day that this would happen: I am agreeing with the NAACP!

PeTA, the perennial preening idiots, have decided once again to degrade humans and elevate animals. Only now, they have decided to denigrate a specific group of humans: slaves.

By comparing pets and animal performers to slaves, PeTA have earned the ire of the NAACP in New Haven, CT. And I’m going to have to say that NAACP has it nailed. To compare animals to black humans who were brought to this nation in bondage is unthinkable.

As the blogfather would say, read the whole thing.
