Vote No for President
I cannot believe how far we have fallen. This election, we are given 5 choices - three Republicans, two Democrats, populists all.
That’s right - ALL populists. Populist is the new term for progressive, which was the new term for liberal, which was the new term for statist, which was the new term for communist.
I’ve been called a DKos/DU plant, a child, and an idiot - all in the span of one comment thread, because I don’t see any material difference between McCain and Clinton/Obama. The party apologists keep throwing “the war” in my face, as though Clinton really means it when she says she’s going to pull out. Which doesn’t really matter much, given that no matter who wins come November, we’re going to have a populist president.
Let me ask you a question - What is the point of winning the war against the Islamists if we lose everything that makes us Americans in the first place? Is spiritual death somehow more acceptable than physical death?
I really don’t care who wins the election in November. This country will continue its slide to the left. There is nothing that is going to convince the bulk of the populace that this is a Bad Thing. I’ll just have to wait it out, and hope it doesn’t fall before I croak. And if it looks like the fall is coming, maybe there’s some place on Earth I can beat feet to that’s not trying to destroy itself at breakneck speed.
I wish I could be optimistic about it. But I can’t. Nothing short of the goodies running out is going to stop this country’s slide to socialism.
