Crimson Update

Crimson (my Doberman) had surgery last friday. Not a really big deal, had a tumor removed from her head (just below her right ear). Anyhow, in the process of removing thtat tumor, the vet was forced to remove a piece of the nerve that connects to the muscles that control blinking in her right eye.

It’s Monday night as I write this, and her brain has already worked out a mechanism using the lower internal eyelid to blink and keep the eye moistened. And it looks like she has at least partial movement in the upper external eyelid already. No, I am not seeing things, she blunk!

So it appears her brain has already started working on a replacement control path to protect the eye!
