Alright, Senator Kerry. Gas prices are going up. What do you do about it?
Do you:
- Raise gas taxes by 50¢ per gallon to promote conservation.
- Kiss the sandals of the Saudi oil barons and hope they increase production.
- Moan and complain while still tooling around in a convoy of SUV’s.
- Inconvenience a few Caribou and drill for oil in Alaska.
- Suck it up and deal with it.
If you’re John Kerry, you do #1 or 2. If you’re George Bush, you do #4. If you’re a hypocrite, you do #3. If you’re one of the rest of us, you do #5.
Sure, I’ll comment on how the price is a bit steep. But I don’t moan about it, I pay it and move on. The only time you’ll actually hear me complaining about it is when the price goes up 40¢ in one jump, in one day.
