What is the cost of time?
The idiots in DC have decided that extending daylight savings time will save energy. These people are fools.
The very first question I asked when this was proposed was “how many people work in offices where they turn off the lights during the day?” I don’t know of any. And I know a lot of people.
The second question I asked was “do these assholes realize how much it is going to cost to change every zarking computer that automatically does the DST changeover?”
I strongly suspect that any energy savings to be had (which will be minimal, at best) will be offset by the cost of modifying everything on Earth to bow to the superiority of the minds in DC.
And something I just thought of - the sun will be lower in the sky at both ends of the day as a result of this - will it cause an increase in car accidents due to sun in the eyes? If so, did these brainless prats include that in their calculus?
I doubt it. These are sound-bite idiots that actually believe that because Congress dictates it, it will be so.
This stupidity is not supposed to take effect until 2007. There is still time to prevent any major wastage of money by repealing it NOW. Mr. President, I demand that you call the Congress back from recess to convene a special session to repeal this idiotic piece of legislation.
