I never thought I would see the day that this would happen: I am agreeing with the NAACP!
PeTA, the perennial preening idiots, have decided once again to degrade humans and elevate animals. Only now, they have decided to denigrate a specific group of humans: slaves.
By comparing pets and animal performers to slaves, PeTA have earned the ire of the NAACP in New Haven, CT. And I’m going to have to say that NAACP has it nailed. To compare animals to black humans who were brought to this nation in bondage is unthinkable.
As the blogfather would say, read the whole thing.
Of course, what PeTA wants, ultimately, is the complete emancipation of animals from human bondage. This is insane. The result of their fantasy would be the unmitigated slaughter of millions, if not billions (if they get theire way world wide) of animals.
Keep in mind that PeTA is against raising animals for food (including eggs and milk), against keeping animals as pets, keeping animals as performers, or using animals for the advancement of science. Their belief is that animals and humans are precisely alike. This is, obviously, complete bullshit.
To draw a parallel between the emancipation of blacks and animals is to degrade blacks more than slavery ever could. Blacks are humans, endowed with all the gifts that humanity has. They possess reason, cognition, intelligence, and the ability to communicate. Animals carry with them no such qualities.
